Boca Del Mar, the 2,000 acre central Boca Raton community has been battling the Siemens Group proposal for a new townhome project on the grounds of the closed down Mizner Trail Golf Course for over five years now. On Monday, September 26th after a daylong meeting, the county commissioners put the debate to a vote. The results were a 4-3 vote rejecting the Siemens Group townhome project. Over 100 residents from Boca Del Mar packed the county courthouse with signs and flags. After the outcome commissioners warned residents that the future of the old golf course is surely far from settled. Martin Perry, attorney for the Siemens Group stated Monday night that they are still weighing their options.
