Boca Raton trys to regulate Wireless Carriers.

Boca Raton city officials continue to review and research the proposed new ordinance that would regulate wireless communications towers.

Originally, it has been interpreted that wireless carriers do not need to seek permits to expand their network or build new towers.  The City is trying to find out how they can regulate these wireless carriers.

What brought this to light was last year Palm Beach Farms residents heard that T-Mobile was going to build a cell phone tower in the community.  Needless to say many were outraged to find out they really could do nothing about it.  However, Boca Raton officials have tried to work with these wireless carriers, and talks are ongoing about the tower, and future towers in their city.

The city of Boca and wireless representatives were set for the 3rd time to have ea meeting, but that has been put off due to the complexity of the meeting.

Palm Beach Farms Boca Raton!

Palm Beach Farms is a beautiful single family community with tree lined streets, well manicured lawns and the character and architecture of a suburban northeast neighborhood located in Boca Raton, FL.  It is one of the most deisreable single family neighborhood in South FLorida.  Nestled between 14th Drive, SW 21st Lane, Interstate 95 to the west and 8th Avenue to the east with a Beautiful Neighborhood Park in the South East Center of the Community Called Breezy Pine Park.

A proposal has just been approved to place an 80 foot cell phone tower at the west end of the development.  There has been some opposition from neighbors, but it looks as if it has already been approved.  The shame of it is that the tower does not need to be approved by the City Council or the Planning and Zoning Board.  It only needs to be approved by the Community Appearance Board, and that has already been done.

The only thing that the residents of Palm Beach Farms can bank on is that if there are any changes to the proposal, which there usually are, then the tower would have to be re-approved, and it would give the residents an opportunity to show their opposition in greater numbers.

A flyer is being distributed in the Palm Beach Farms area of Boca Raton screams, "Coming soon to Palm Beach Farms - an 80 foot tall cell tower."
