Binding has been suspended as a result of Tropical Depression 3 as of 11:00 a.m. ET, on Thursday, July 22, 2010.
Citizens' Binding Suspension Rule: No application for new or endorsement for increased coverage may be bound, written or issued, or monies received, regardless of effective date, when a tropical storm or hurricane watch or warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for any part of the State of Florida.
You will receive a follow-up e-mail notification when this suspension is lifted.

Don't quite understand your post. Are you surprised by this? Citizens are suspended from increasing their insurance, or obtaining insurance now that a storm is approaching. You think this is a new suspension? Insurance companies won't write earthquake riders after an earthquake either. Why? Because of after shocks. They've been doing this type of thing for years.
Hello Carla, thank you for your comment. The reason I wrote this was to inform agents and/or buyers that if they are in need of insurance in the next week it may be tough.
Hi David- It's good info for Realtors to pass on to their buyers since once certain conditions exist, you can't get insurance until they lift the suspension.
