I know that many of the top producers have been in the business for a very long time. Many of them continue to think that just because the way they do business yesterday made them a success it will still be effective in tomorrow's market.
It won't. The future of real estate is mobile. In 5 years time just about every agent doing any business will have a tablet. The days of bringing the big listing presentation packets are gone. Why not share them the real time data they want. If you want to do business in tomorrow's market then you must embrace mobile technology.
Many of you are going to read this post and say yeah I know and may think about mobile technology for about 2 minutes before getting distracted and forgetting about it all together. 5 years from now you will get that tablet out of necessity not out of desire to be a success. Real estate agents tend to wait until they "cannot live without it". Why not be one of the first and not the last.
Did you know that by the year 2013 there will be more mobile searches then computer searches?
Did you know that less than 10% of real estate agents have tablets?
Did you know that only 52% of real estate agents have a smart phone?
Could you imagine being that 48%/
Be an innovator. Be Creative and Choose to be different. Be mobile and it will payoff.

It is time that we all get on the technology wave. Very good point.
David,
Those are some crazy statistics there only 52%??! The reality of it is eventually we all have to embrace technology or get left in the dust.
i think for some people it's difficult to learn new technology and slowly but surely they'll have to come on up or be pushed out.
Harry, thank you for your comment. It is our job to not be left in the dust.
Krista, thank you for your comment
Victor, so very true. Thank you for your comment.
Not so sure about the tablets, but definately all our web sites are going to have to look good for mobile.
An interesting blog post that I enjoyed reading. Thank you for sharing it!
Leslie, tablets are eventually going to be it. We wont have any desktops at all. hankl you for your comment
I am mobile and I love it! :) Thanks for the encouragement
Hello Joy,
Thank you. Mobile is cool
Great post Dave, technology is a friendly tool and we need to keep on with it, but at the end of the day the most important tool is our sales and people's skills.
Also there are some clients who still dont use technology, I have a client requesting me to mail him the contract because he doesn't own a computer, doesn't have email or access to a fax machine. And he live out of state.
Jose, i agree we need to consider our audience, but the people with the largest percentage of buying power are those from ages 21-35. They won't want their contracts mailed they will want everything mobile
I need to get completely mobile with my listing presentations ! Clearly being able to demostrate AR,Google Ranking,FB pages, etc. will CLEARLY DIFFERENTIATE us from the competition !!!!!!!!!!!
Michael spot on. We can be the pioneers or wait till we are forceed to change.
